How much does Primavera P6 cost?

On Oracle's published price list, Primavera P6 Professional costs $2,500 per user as a perpetual licence plus $550 per user per year for support. P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) costs $2,750 per user plus $605 a year, and the Oracle-hosted P6 EPPM Cloud Service costs $125 per user per month with a 25-user minimum.

Those US dollar figures come from Oracle's Construction and Engineering Global Price List dated 10 November 2016, the most recent public copy (published for the Texas DIR contract). Oracle no longer posts a newer list, and quotes vary by region, reseller and deal size. A more recent public reference is Oracle's UK G-Cloud 15 pricing document from January 2026, which lists P6 EPPM Cloud at £244 per user per month. Use both as a starting point and get a quote before you budget.

P6 Professional vs P6 EPPM vs Oracle Primavera Cloud

The product you need decides most of the cost.

  • P6 Professional is the Windows desktop application planners use to build and analyse schedules. It suits an individual scheduler or a small team, and it is the cheapest way to own P6.
  • P6 EPPM is the enterprise, web-based version: one central database, portfolios, user security, timesheets and the web interface for team members. You need it when many people across an organisation work in the same schedules. On premises it also needs a server, a database and someone to administer them.
  • P6 EPPM Cloud Service is EPPM hosted by Oracle. No servers, but a monthly fee per user and a 25-user minimum.
  • Oracle Primavera Cloud is a separate, newer cloud application, not P6 in the cloud. Schedule, risk, task management and portfolio modules are sold separately, with a five-user minimum per module in the G-Cloud listing.

Term licences: renting P6 for one to five years

Oracle's price list also offers term licences, priced as a share of the perpetual licence: 20% for one year, 35% for two, 50% for three, 60% for four and 70% for five. Support for a term licence is still 22% of the full perpetual price, not of the term price.

For P6 Professional that makes a one-year term $500 plus $550 support, or $1,050 for the year. A three-year term is $1,250 plus three years of support at $550, or $2,900 in total. If you will use P6 for more than about five years, perpetual usually works out cheaper. For a single project, a term licence often does.

Worked examples at list price

5 planners on P6 Professional (perpetual): $12,500 in licences plus $2,750 a year in support. About $26,250 over five years, or roughly $88 per user per month.
25 users on P6 EPPM on premises: $68,750 in licences plus $15,125 a year in support. About $144,375 over five years, before servers, database licences and an administrator.
25 users on P6 EPPM Cloud (the minimum): $37,500 a year at the 2016 USD list, or £73,200 a year at the January 2026 UK G-Cloud price.
5 users on Oracle Primavera Cloud Schedule: £6,240 a year at the January 2026 UK G-Cloud price.

The costs that are not on the price list

The licence is rarely the largest line. Budget for these too:

  • Training. P6 is powerful and not intuitive. New planners usually need formal training before their schedules can be trusted.
  • Implementation. EPPM needs an enterprise project structure, codes, calendars, user security and reporting set up, often by a consultant.
  • Infrastructure for on-premises EPPM. Application server, database (Oracle Database or SQL Server) with its own licence, backups and upgrades.
  • Administration. Someone has to manage users, global data and upgrades.
  • Reporting. Dashboards for managers who will never open P6 usually mean an add-on or a separate BI tool.
  • Support reinstatement. If perpetual support lapses, returning to it usually costs back fees and a penalty, so treat support as permanent.

Primavera P6 alternatives and what they cost

P6 is the right choice for large programmes, contracts that require P6 schedule files (XER), and teams of trained planners. For smaller teams, or when the schedule has to be read by many people who are not schedulers, the alternatives below are worth pricing.

ToolPricing modelBest for
Primavera P6 Professional$2,500 perpetual plus $550 a year (Oracle list)Professional schedulers, contracts that demand P6
Microsoft Planner and Project Plan 3$30 per user per month, including the Project desktop appOrganisations already on Microsoft 365

Asta PowerprojectAnnual or perpetual licence, priced by ElecosoftUK and European construction planners
Custom schedulerOne project fee, no per-user licence; you own the codeFocused teams that need their own workflow, dashboards and integrations

The last row is what we build. Our nuclear project scheduling software demo, NuPlan, and its construction edition, BuildPlan, do the core of P6: critical path and float, delay impact, baselines, resource histograms and earned value. They run in a browser, and you can try both without signing up.
